Sacred to the memory of David Williams who departed this life the 18th day of March 1824, aged 42 years
This tribute of respect to a departed worth was placed by his affectionate mother
Though boisterous winds and Neptune’s waves
Have tossed me to and fro
In spite of both by God’s decree
I harbour here below:
When now at anchor I do lie
With many of our fleet
In hope once more for to set sail
Our Saviour Christ to meet.
Here also lyeth the remains of his son James who died in his infancy aged 9 months
