Bio:

of Seatown, Dundalk. In 1804 Malcolm Brown along with James Reid, Peter Godbey and James Gillichan established a distillery at Roden Place called Reid, Brown & Co. The distillery went on to become Malcolm Brown & Company. Years later Malcolm Brown became the solo proprietor of the distillery, through his marriage in to the Gillichan family. He was married to the daughter of James and Eliza Gillichan. The Malcolm Brown & Company was inherited by Brown's nephew John Murray, son of his sister Mrs David. Murray. John Murray created a partnership with his brother in law Robert Haig, who ran the distillery until his son Malcolm Brown Murray took over.
