Sacred to the memory of Anne Countess of Roden, daughter of James first Earl of Clanbrassill. The days of her age were three score years and ten, fulfilled in drawing nearer to the Lord Jesus day by day, and holding fast to the end the blessed hope of everlasting life, knowing verily that in all things we must learn of Him. Bio:

Lady Anne Jocelyn, Countess of Roden was the daughter of the late James Hamilton 1st Earl of Clanbrassil and Lady Harriet Bentwick. She was sister to the 2nd Earl James Hamilton, and was married to Robert Jocelyn, 2nd Earl of Roden. Most people believe that Anne Street is named after her, but it was her grandmother Hon. Mrs Anne Hamilton (nee Mordaunt) who established a charity school on the street during the 1730’s.
