John Hamilton Stubbs M.A.
eldest son of James Stubbs
clerk of Ballybowden in the County of Dublin, for fifty two years a resident in this county as master of the Dundalk Endowed Grammar School from 1814 till 1826, curate of this parish until 1841, and afterwards rector of the parish of Dromiskin. He bore with him to the grave the love and respect of all classes and creeds.
Born Jan 26th 1786, died Oct 25th 1866.
Margaret his wife eldest daughter of John Carleton Esq of High Park, County Dublin,
born Dec 9th 1791, died Jan 25th 1880
and of their children.
George died March 12th 1835 aged 15 years.
Margaret [died] March 14th 1835 [aged] 14 [years].
Anne [died] April 16th 1836 [aged] 20 [years].
Isabella Jane[died] July 22nd 1836 [aged] 6 [years].
Mary [died] Jan. 19th 1837 [aged] 20 years.
William Henry [died] June 20th 1851 [aged] 17 [years].
Edward Charles James [died] Nov. 30th 1856 [aged] 25 [years].
The remains of all these are deposited in the vault beside the vestry door of this church. John Hamilton who died in Finglas, County Dublin May 16 1834 aged 16 years and buried in the churchyard of that parish. James, Charles, Ellen died in infancy and were buried in the S.W. corner of this churchyard. For the Lord God giveth them light and they shall reign for ever and ever.
