"[Inscription on stone in recess in south wall of chancel. This stone, formerly in the vestry, was moved to its present position in 1956.]
Ecclesia haec temporis et belli penitus diruta, forma nova et elegantiori instaurata fuit anno Christi 1707 Radulpho Lamberto STP vicaro. Henrico Bush Georgio Low custodibus.
(This church had suffered injury from time and war and was restored in a new and more elegant form in the year of Christ 1707, Ralph Lambert vicar. Henry Bush, George Low churchwardens.)"
