History of the Church
As you approach St Nicholas’s Church from Church Street, you step into a space preserved by time. The front gates, wall and railing have been in place since 1886. The churchyard you enter has been closed for burials since 1896, and most gravestones date from the mid- 18th century to the late 19th.
